  • What is the consumer duty?

The consumer duty is a duty on public bodies in Scotland to consider the impact their strategic decisions will have on consumers including reducing harm.

  • The guidance

Consumer Scotland has published draft guidance for public bodies on how to meet the consumer duty. This includes guidance for senior decision makers and how to undertake an impact assessment.

  • Have your say

Consumer Scotland held a 12-week consultation on the draft guidance to hear the views of all those public bodies affected, as well as consumer groups and the public.
